Stephen Gitau is the Chief Executive Officer of AMREF Flying Doctors, a commercial entity fully owned by Amref Health Africa – the oldest, largest and best-known air ambulance company in Africa.
He has over 20 year’s senior management experience in leading teams, change management, business turn-around, strategy formulation and implementation, financial management, commercial, audit and accounting.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Nairobi and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from Strathmore Business School. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA-K)
Stephen also worked as the Chief Finance Officer for AMREF Flying Doctors. He was responsible for providing leadership, financial and administrative management, as well as human resources and information technology resources. He also oversaw the execution of the company’s approved strategy, strategies, and financial budgets.
Prior to joining the AMREF Flying Doctors team, Stephen worked at TNT Express as the Head of Finance and Administration and at KPMG East Africa as a senior auditor.
